• Location permission: BeachScout may use your device location only when you choose current-location search. This is used to show nearby beaches, swimming places, naturist beaches, resorts and campsites.
• Search and usage analytics: We may collect anonymous usage information, such as searches performed, approximate selected places, result counts and app-open events, to improve the service.
• Community contributions: If you submit beach information, photos or descriptions, that content may be stored and reviewed before publication.
• Contact information: If you contact us by email, we will use your email address only to respond to your request.

How information is used

Information is used to provide search results, improve BeachScout, moderate user-submitted content, respond to support requests and maintain the safety and quality of the service.

Photos and user-submitted content

Users may submit photos and short descriptions. Contributors remain the owners of their photos and text. By submitting content, you give BeachScout permission to store, moderate and display that content as part of the service.

Third-party data and services

BeachScout uses open and third-party geographic data sources such as OpenStreetMap, Nominatim, Overpass API, MapLibre and Wikimedia resources. These services may have their own privacy practices.

Data sharing

We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared only when required to operate the service, comply with law, protect users, or respond to legitimate removal or copyright requests.
