One map entry, several different places
BeachScout currently shows this part of San Cataldo as a single beach. On the ground, it includes four lidos and an open, free beach to the east. Treat the map entry as an overview of the stretch rather than a description of one uniform beach.
The four lidos are Lido Mancarella, Lido Verde, Lido Polizia and Lido Azzurro. The supplied map image labels the last of these as La Terrazza (Lido Azzurro). I will add photographs and parking notes for the individual areas so visitors can distinguish the lidos from the free section before setting out.
The open, free beach
The free beach has no facilities, including toilets. Unfortunately, some people relieve themselves in the nearby bushes. Debris washed ashore by the sea does not appear to be cleared regularly, and there is some seagrass in the water.
Even so, I find the sandy beach very pleasant. It can be especially nice for children, provided families are comfortable with the lack of facilities and check the conditions on the day.
Visiting at the end of September
These notes are being made at the end of September. On 26 September it is a bit windy here; in my experience, wind is common at San Cataldo. August may be much busier, but this visit cannot establish what the beaches or parking are like at the height of summer. Seasonal opening, services and beach rules should be checked before a trip.
A July visit to Lido Pachamama
I also visited Lido Pachamama in July. I found it very nice, although I paid €8 for two soft drinks, which felt excessively expensive for San Cataldo. That was the price on my visit; prices may have changed.
